I constantly get asked about effectiveness of subliminal recordings and scientific proof, and studies and things such as that. Many people are looking for me to cite clinical studies, or data collected by the scientific method, but I don’t do that.
I know what has worked for me and for my clients. “How” it works is another story altogether. I think that the “how” is irrelevant most of the time. I don’t need to know how a TV works in order to watch it, nor do I need to fully understand the internal combustion engine to drive my car.
I got the following question emailed to me, and i thought other people would be interested in it and the answer.

Hi Rick,
I was surfing the net about Law Of Attraction and stumbled on your site. I read some things on Subliminal messages and there is ’supposedly’ scientific proof that subliminal messages do not work.
Since you are at the heart of it… what honestly have you noticed?
Please respond..very interested.

Hi Mike,
I think it all depends on what studies you read and how they conducted it. Years ago, (before I was in this field myself) I ordered some subliminal tapes and used them. They seemed to work, but the company was very specific that I needed to keep the playback head of the cassette player de-gaussed or the tapes would lose their effectiveness. I don’t know if it was the power of suggestion or not, but they did seem to lose effectiveness over time.
Later, I ordered some affirmations tapes from a different company and repeated the affirmations out loud and they seemed to work well, but I wasn’t always in a place where I could do that, nor was it appropriate to listen to that type of thing (in offices around other people and such).
I searched for a long time for a “happy medium”, and was determined to find something that would work that was in between. What I found out in doing all that looking was that a lot of the subliminal audio that was out there truly didn’t work, because the subliminal part was recorded at a level that was not only beneath perception, but that was impossible to even register through people’s senses at all.
I got to where I didn’t trust anything out there if I couldn’t verify that there was actually something on it. Interestingly enough, I started my current business by adapting things I was doing to help myself to helping other people. In order to get the results I wanted, I developed my own type of subliminal recordings — for my own use for various things.
I know I’ve taken a long time answering your question, but what I actually noticed was that when I used the subliminals that I made myself with a different recording technique than all the others, they worked, and they gave me the results that I wanted.
Now honestly, I don’t know if it’s the power of suggestion, the placebo effect, or what, but they always work for me. The difficulty is that anything I say about it is purely subjective, but maybe that’s the whole point. The Law of Attraction is about feelings and emotions and attitudes, so if they (the subliminal CDs) are able to affect a change in attitude (no matter how that actually happens), then I guess they are working the way they need to.
When it all boils down to the end, as long as we achieve the results that we want, do we care how it happened?
Other people report the same results with listening to my subliminals.
I hope I answered your question… sorry I got long-winded
Best Regards,
