I am constantly amazed at how much subliminal programming of our minds occurs on a daily basis. It comes from everywhere, and “by definition” we are unaware of it. Broadcasting subliminal messages over the public airwaves has been illegal in the United States for some time. the problem is that most people don’t really know what can be (and is) subliminal. In this article, I’ll be focusing on audio subliminals, but there are visual subliminals that bombard us all as well.
Do you have a radio on while you’re working or doing something where your attention isn’t on what’s being played on the radio? Do you read a book or magazine or do something else while your television is on in the background? Do you listen to music that has words in it while exercising or jogging or doing anything else? If so, then you are programming yourself subliminally with whatever the words are that you are hearing — whether it’s in the background or not.
This may not seem like a big deal, and perhaps it isn’t for you. For me it is. After all, I make a living helping people program their minds with things that they want to have programmed in there. I do that through principles and techniques that involve some very powerful suggestion techniques that change what your subconscious mind brings into your life. I help people change their speech patterns, and thought patterns, and beliefs, and emotions, so that they can get the results they are seeking.
People tend to focus on the problem rather than the solution. Once we let go of the problem, and start focusing on the solution, we quite quickly get the solution. Why do people focus on the problem rather than the solution? I’m convinced it’s because they aren’t aware that they are doing just that. Once the “awareness” is there, the solution of changing the focus to the solution comes quite rapidly.
So what is the problem here, and what is the solution? Let’s look at something very simple such as listening to a CD in the background while reading a book. If the CD contains a voice track, your subconscious mind is listening to the voice and taking it all in whether you are consciously aware of it or not. The issue here is, do you want to be programmed with that voice track? Perhaps it’s a song that is playing and the words are telling you things such as, “I’m so lonely without you” or “I can’t live without you” or is about “love gone bad”. Is that something you want to be programmed with? If it is, that is your choice. My choice is to limit that type of programming of my mind.
Now I don’t want to come across as advocating that we ban negative words in songs. I’m not saying that today’s music is corrupting our kids. My gosh, I heard that while I was growing up. What I am saying is that you need to be aware of how you are programming your subconscious mind. I listen to pop music quite a bit, and I really like a lot of the songs. I’m not crazy about the words to them, but the tune may be quite catchy. I still choose to listen to the song, but I tell myself that I’m not the lonely one the song is singing about. I also do things to “balance out” any negativity I may have programmed into myself.
So your assignment, “Mr. Phelps”, should you choose to accept it… is to become consciously aware of how you are programming yourself unintentionally. Notice sounds in the background and then examine the words that you are being programmed with. Notice commercials in particular (on radio and tv). Do the “tel you” things like “you have a headache”, “you can’t sleep”, or something else? Just notice these things and then start making your own choices as to what to do about it.
I’ll be writing more about subliminal programming, and other methods of balancing out the inputs in future articles. There seems to be a flurry of interest in this right now, so I’ll make an effort to address it.
